The BIRKENSTOCK Big Buckle collection comprises shoes for men and women in various designs and colours. We’ve got the perfect model for any outfit. The extra large buckle – our Big Buckle – does not only help keep your feet securely in your sandals, it is also a bold design statement. The best example is our minimalist Gizeh Big Buckle which combines the classic thong sandal design with our fashionable big buckle. But also our Arizona Big Buckle can make heads turn with its cool, classic aesthetics and the large buckles. The one-strap sandal Madrid is the oldest model in the BIRKENSTOCK family. Of course, this comfortable icon is also available as Madrid Big Buckle with our extra large big buckle. Big Buckle with many natural materials
BIRKENSTOCK exclusively uses high-quality materials, such as leather, selected textiles and also synthetic or blended fabrics. The Big Buckle collection is no exception. There’s a big buckle edition of many models while every edition features different materials. For example, some of our cosy shearling shoes for women are part of our Big Buckle collection. All materials which are used for BIRKENSTOCK shoes are produced responsibly and checked for skin tolerability. In addition to leather, the easy-to-care-for synthetic material Birko-Flor is also used for our shoes and sandals – a material exclusively used by BIRKENSTOCK. We also use renewable raw materials. Cork and jute, for example, can be found in our footbed. One single tree is able to produce around 100 to 200 kilograms of cork during its lifetime. The regenerating cork layer can be harvested without the tree suffering any harm.
BIRKENSTOCK for men and women: Big Buckle with a comfortable footbed
All shoes by BIRKENSTOCK feature a special, anatomically shaped footbed so that your feet feel relaxed and comfortable even after a long day. The original BIRKENSTOCK footbed was developed on the basis of a natural footprint in the sand. The deep heel cup ensures that the heel is held securely in its natural position. This way, your feet have similar grip and support in a BIRKENSTOCK sandal as if you were wearing a closed-toe shoe. Moreover, our design prevents fatigue while walking which makes our sandals perfect for long days and long distances.
BIRKENSTOCK: big buckles for normal, slender and wide feet
Many models are offered with footbeds in two different widths so that feet in all forms and shapes are comfortable in our BIRKENSTOCK shoes with the big buckle. The “regular” width is perfect for normal and wide feet while the “narrow” width was especially developed for slender feet. BIRKENSTOCK shoes and sandals fit perfectly if there is a space of approximately 5 millimetres between the heel and the edge of the footbed.
