Made of the smoothest nappa leather, with long straps of super soft glove leather, the Velan wraps gently around the ankle while providing grounding comfort. The newly designed v-neckline adds a refined detail to the clog, contrasting elegantly with the tone-on-tone bold outsole with a leather welt and an anti-slip profile.
- Upper: the upper of both colors is made of smooth nappa leather, with long super soft straps made of glove leather, that can be individually wrapped around the ankle

The natural leather that we use is mostly smooth leather, in some cases tumbled leather. This type of leather has many special characteristics, such as breathability, adaptation to the shape of the foot and durability.
Insole: Natural leather
Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material.

Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Outsole: EVA
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
