The BIRKENSTOCK Kay clog boasts two straps, one of which is fixed firmly to the shaft. Thanks to the hidden stud on the side, the second strap can be folded back and, if necessary, can either be worn on the shaft or as an ankle strap for extra grip.
This ESD version was developed specifically for people working in microelectronics or with high-frequency technology. ESD stands for “electrostatic discharge". These shoe models continuously discharge their wearers gently. The antistatic elements in the sole balance out potential differences between the electrical charge of the wearer and their work environment by permanently “grounding" the feet and can be identified by a round, yellow emblem. Warning: the ESD range goes up to values of 34 Mohm and is therefore non-insulating!
The upper is made from the skin-friendly, hard-wearing synthetic material Birko-Flor®.
The shoe has been tested in accordance with EN ISO 61340.

Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material.
Footbed material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Outsole: EVA anti-static
Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) anti-static is a high-quality, particularly lightweight and elastic synthetic material with excellent shock-absorbing and anti-static properties.
