For almost 20 years, Mindy lived a life full of action as a firefighter. She drove emergency vehicles, fought fires and took care of the wounded. "I loved this job, even though the 24-hour shifts put intense demands on the family with having to balance the unique schedule and having three children.

Right away when she started the job in 2019, she was faced with the greatest challenge of her life: "I have never experienced the global pandemic before. I immediately had to decide and step up. I just jumped of the cliff and thought: What the heck, I just going to learn.” To this day, her tasks are numerous and demand plenty of flexibility and compassion. For Mindy, though, "the job is perfect. Even if I don't drive a fire truck anymore, but a desk!"
