All BIRKENSTOCK Care Essentials products are either COSMOS Natural or COSMOS Organic certified. The COSMOS certification is a pledge of trust to our community and proof that we offer high quality organic and natural cosmetic products.

COSMOS is a non-profit, international and independent association dedicated to certifying natural and organic cosmetics. They have established stringent criteria to ensure that consumers can trust the authenticity of the products they use. The COSMOS standards are based on four core principles:

Using natural resources responsibly and with respect for the environment: our products and raw materials are produced with methods that minimize environmental impact, promoting sustainable use of natural resources.

Using processing and manufacturing that are clean and respectful of human health and the environment: the production processes for each of our raw materials and every end product are environmentally sound and ensure the safety and well-being of workers and consumers.

Integrating and developing the concept of green chemistry: this means products and processes that reduce or eliminate hazardous substances. Our formulas do not contain petrochemicals, silicones, parabens, phenoxyethanol or synthetic fragrances.

Promoting the use of products from organic agriculture and respecting biodiversity: we use natural resources responsibly and respect biodiversity to preserve natural balance.

Our products are not only made with 100% natural ingredients, they're completely free from paraffin, silicones, parabens, synthetic fragrances or pigments, PEGs, animal testing and genetic engineering.
