To the extent permitted by law, Birkenstock may send electronic mail to you for the purpose of advising you of changes or additions to this Site, about any of Birkenstock’s products or services, or for such other purpose(s) as Birkenstock deems appropriate (and where permissible by law). Information Collection and Method of Collection
We may collect personal information directly from you, including your name, email address, shipping/billing address, phone number, credit card number, and other personally identifiable information, when you visit our Site, place an order online or by phone, save your information with us online, contact us with a question or concern, or participate in a contest, promotion, or survey. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of certain features. We maintain a record of your product interests and the purchases you make online or by phone. We retain your personal information we collect only as long as it is necessary to conduct our activities and accomplish specific goals while it is reasonable to do so for customer service, legal or commercial purposes. The length of retention period depends on the service and the nature of this information. When the retention period expires, the information is destroyed, deleted or made anonymous.
Information Disclosure and Transfer
For example, we may share your information with our service providers and affiliates who help us to fulfill customer orders, send communications, or conduct surveys. We use social media (for example, Facebook and Twitter) in addition to the operation of the Site. Social media accounts are public and are not hosted by us. If you decide to interact with us through social media, you must therefore read the terms of service and privacy policies of these third-party suppliers of services and the applications used to have access to them.
Third Parties or Publicly Available Sources
We may receive personal information about you from various third parties and public sources, including the following:

- Contact, Payment and Transaction Data from payment processor and fraud detection and prevention companies;
- Identity and/or Contact Data from friends or people you know and who have asked us to contact you;

- Identity, Contact, Profile, Usage, User Content, and/or Friends Data from social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
- Identity, Contact, Profile, and/or Usage Data from advertising networks and marketing lists; and
- Identity, Contact, and/or Profile Data from marketing insights companies like Experian.
We may merge such information with personal information collected through the Site.
Use of Google Remarketing: The Site uses the remarketing feature of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). This feature makes it possible to present interest-based advertising to website visitors as part of the Google Network. The remarketing feature uses “cookies”, small text files, which are stored on your computer. They are used to remember your information and settings when you visit websites that are part of Google's advertising network. These websites can then show you relevant ads that refer to the content you previously viewed on websites that use the remarketing feature of Google.
According to Google, it does not collect any personally identifiable information in this process. If you do not want the remarketing feature to be used, however, you can always disable it by changing the appropriate settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
Use of Facebook Remarketing: On our Site, the remarketing feature of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) is used. It allows us to show visitors to our Site personalized, content-related Facebook ads when they visit the social network Facebook.
Our Site therefore contains remarketing tags from Facebook. Through these tags, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers when you visit our Site. Facebook is informed which of the websites you have visited and can assign this information to your personal Facebook profile. This information then enables us to display personalized, interest-related Facebook ads.

Use of Pinterest: On our Site, we use the services of Pinterest, Inc., 651 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA, USA (“Pinterest”). The Pinterest tag collects site behavior data to show content that’s relevant, interesting and personal to users when visiting www.pinterest.com or browsing the Pinterest app. Our Site therefore contains marketing tags from Pinterest. Through Pinterest tags, Pinterest is informed of what website pages and products you have viewed on our Site. This information enables us to display personalized ads on Pinterest’s website and apps. You can opt out of online behavioral advertising through Pinterest’s personalization settings or through the AdChoices website http://optout.aboutads.info/.
Use of Kenshoo: On our Site, we use the services of Kenshoo, 22 4th Street, 7th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA (“Kenshoo”). This feature makes it possible to present interest-based advertising to website visitors as part of the Google & Bing Networks. Use of Nanigans:On our Site, we use the services of Nanigans Inc., 100 Summer St, Boston, MA, USA (“Nanigans”). It allows us to collect statistical data to provide more interest based, content related advertisements when visiting Facebook Inc. properties.
Our Site therefore contains marketing tags from Nanigans. Through these tags, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Nanigans servers when you visit our Site. Use of Connexity: On our Site, we use the services of Connexity, Inc., 2120 Colorado Ave, California 90404, USA (“Connexity”). Connexity is a processor that makes it possible for us to review the performance of our marketing activities with Connexity through services on our Site. The feature uses "cookies", small text files, which are stored on your individual device. They are used to compile data and statistics about our marketing activities (e.g. how many users/visitors made purchases) in order to improve our Site and services to you. Connexity uses this data purely for business purposes and does not share and/or sell them.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, the information necessary or communicated by you will be used for this purpose in order to enable us to periodically send you the newsletter via e-mail, either directly or through a third party.

Access to and Modification of Personal Information
You may review and change certain personal information we collect, such as your name and contact information. To access your information, simply sign in to your account using your email address and password, and you will be able to edit your personal information. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a password) to verify your identity before granting your profile access to make corrections. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and account information at all times.
You may also access your own personal information in order to consult, update or correct such, by contacting our Privacy Officer in writing by email or regular mail at the coordinates provided below. Any such request must contain sufficient details for us to be able to process it. We agree to respond to any such request within a reasonable period of time, and to the extent possible, within a maximum of thirty (30) days. We must however first verify the identity of the person making such a request.
We may refuse in writing access to or modification of your personal information for serious reasons, such as the exorbitant cost of supplying the information, the fact that the personal information contains information about other persons, the existence of legal, security or proprietary commercial reasons and the fact that the information is protected by professional secrecy, attorney-client privilege, or involved in a legal proceeding.
We may charge fees for the transcription, copying or transmission of your personal information and will so advise you in advance.
Withdrawal of Consent
You may opt out of receiving commercial electronic messages from us by following the instructions provided in those messages. Please note that even if you opt out of such messages, we may continue to send you non-promotional emails, such as emails regarding your orders and other business transactions with us, if permitted by applicable law.
Subject to legal or contractual requirements, you may opt-out from having your personal information collected, used or disclosed for certain purposes by contacting our Privacy Officer in writing by email or regular mail at the coordinates provided below, giving reasonable notice. However, the withdrawal of such consent could limit our capacity to offer you certain specific services, prevent us from providing same or even force us to cease from providing same. Moreover, even in case of withdrawal of consent, we may nevertheless by law have the right or obligation to retain, use or disclose personal information about you. You may also contact us with requests that we delete your personal information from our systems. We will attempt to accommodate such requests to the extent possible. If all such information is deleted from our systems, your account may become deactivated. In any event, we may retain an archived copy of your records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes and we may charge fees for any requested deletion. The Site is not designed to attract children, and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under the age of 13.
