"I'm usually a 39 (5.5) in all shoes I buy. I had to send them back and get a 38 (5). Apart from that inconvenience, my second pair are wonderful. Beautiful colour, so well made, gorgeous sturdy leather, comfortable even new. A very classic and classy product, which will last me years, I hope ☺️ Get the size right @ Birkenstock please 🤲🏼 Very happy to own these. Thank you 🥰🪷"

"Das Leder hat einen ziemlich strammen sitzt und hat bis jetzt auch noch nicht nachgegeben. An einen Fuss habe ich dort, wo der Gummi ans Leder genäht wurde, eine gerötete Druckstelle so dass ich aktuell mit dem weiteren Einlaufen pausieren muss. Auch habe ich das Gefühl, dass die Schuhe unterschiedlich weit sind. ich hoffe, dies gibt sich noch, denn sonst war es ein teurer Fehlkauf."

"En largeur normale, très large au niveau des orteils mais bien trop étroites au coup de pied et à l'arrière, donc impossible de rentrer le pied comme il faut et il dépasse derrière alors qu'il reste plein de place devant les orteils, j'espère qu'elles vont s'élargir en forçant un peu"

"Passt gut und ist sehr bequem. Die Sohle wurde im Vergleich zu einem im letzten Jahr gekauften Modell verändert. Es ist jetzt eine deutlich dickerer Sohle, aber ohne Polsterschicht. Ich gehe davon aus dass die Sohle dadurch länger hält. Beim ersten Schuh musst die Sohle nach einer Saison vom Schuster erneuert werden, weil sie so dünn und bereits abgelaufen war und sich dadurch gelöst hat .. mit 70 EUR kein günstiges "Vergnügen"."

"Der Schuh und die Passform sind sehr gut, allerdings reibt der elastische Bund im inneren leider durch nicht einwandfreie Verarbeitung am rechten Fuß den Spann auf. Am linken Schuh geht genau an dieser Stelle dafür die Naht auf. Der Schuh ist ein echter Hingucker, aber sie Verarbeitung nicht wie gewohnt."

Oiled leather is one of our favourite types of leather. Its oily waxed surface makes for a unique colour effect and develops a beautiful patina. The oily finish of our natural leather products results in colour variation, making each and every pair unique.
Insole: Natural leather
Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material.
Footbed material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Outsole: EVA
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.

The Original Birkenstock Footbed
The heart of all models is the original BIRKENSTOCK footbed. The construction, which has been thought out to the smallest detail and makes it feel like you're standing in sand, helps your feet feel as comfortable as possible for hours on end. This supports health and promotes wellbeing.
The very deep molding in the heel area supports the foot tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in its natural position. This provides the foot with nearly as much support when it is in a sandal as when it is in a closed shoe.
Activates the calf muscles, stabilises the back of the foot and improves gait and coordination.
The arch supports that run alongside the sides of the footbed surround the tarsal bones inside and out. This gives the foot the stability it needs when it takes a step.
The support that runs through the middle of the footbed stabilizes the metatarsal bone. In this way, the transverse arch support helps ensure that the foot has a naturally straight and solid stance.
There are raised indentations at the front of the footbed near the toes. Thanks to the toe grip the toes remain loose and spread out in their natural position. The indentations also support the natural rolling motion of the toes.
The footbed is drawn up especially high at the front. As a result, the high footbed edge protects the toes during the rolling motion of the foot.
