"This is the third pair of Birkenstock work shoes I have had. The sizing is spot on, and day long comfort second to non. I work on my feet all day, my feet and legs feel as good at the end of my shift as they did at the start. My last pair reached their 3rd birthday last month and had started to look their age, so I got my new pair and look forward to continued supported and ache free feet."

"Der Arbeitsschuh ist nicht mit den Sandalen zu vergleichen. Ich trage sowohl Modelle wie Arizona und Boston. Das sind Unterschiede wie Tag und Nacht. Wegen meiner Plantarfasziitis bestellt und wirklich sehr, sehr enttäuscht. Rausgeschmissenes Geld. Erklärt mir bitte wie es sein kann, dass die Sandalen schmerzfrei stundenlang getragen werden können, und kaum habe ich den Arbeitsschuh eine Stunde an, schmerzt mein Fuß ins unerträgliche."

"Ich trage seit Jahrzehnten Birkenstock ,die letzten Jahre bevorzugt Sneaker. Darum dachte ich das die Arbeitsschuhe perfekt für mich wären,auch weil ich in anderen Schuhen immer Schmerzen habe. Ich habe sie jetzt 3 x getragen und unfassbare Schmerzen, druckstellen Blasen,die Lasche unter den Schnürriemen ist so hart das sie wundscheuert. Könnte ich sie zurück schicken??"

BIRKENSTOCK’s QS500 safety shoe with a removable footbed offers firm grip and takes the strain off your feet, allowing you to stand and move around comfortably at work for many hours, even in demanding environments. The QS500 is presented as a simple, modern sneaker with 6-hole lacing. This ESD version was developed specifically for people working in microelectronics or with high-frequency technology. ESD stands for “electrostatic discharge". These shoe models continuously discharge their wearers gently. The antistatic elements in the sole balance out potential differences between the electrical charge of the wearer and their work environment by permanently “grounding" the feet and can be identified by a round, yellow emblem. Warning: the ESD range goes up to values of 35 Mohm and is therefore non-insulating! The nonslip, metal-free, and oil- and petrol-resistant outsole additionally provides for energy absorption around the heel and is penetration-resistant. A 200-joule steel toe with a scratch-resistant toe cap protects the forefoot. The upper is made from water-resistant smooth leather (WRU) and offers antistatic protection. The shoe is certified in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2011 and meets the requirements of protection category S3.

Upper material: Natural leather
The natural leather that we use is mostly smooth leather, in some cases tumbled leather. This type of leather has many special characteristics, such as breathability, adaptation to the shape of the foot and durability.
Insole: Microfibre
Microfibre is a skin-friendly material which is soft and yet tear-resistant. Because they are free of animal products they are used as the covering material for the lining of footbeds in vegan products, among other things.
Footbed material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
