For almost 20 years, Mindy lived a life full of action as a firefighter. She drove fire trucks, fought fires and took care of the wounded. "I loved this job, even though the 24-hour shifts demanded even my husband's complete focus – after all, we have three children."
Today, as Deputy Fire Chief, she coordinates rescue and medical operations. Right away when she started the job in 2019, she was faced with the greatest challenge of her life: "I have never experienced the global pandemic before. I immediately had to decide and step up. I just jumped off the cliff and thought: What the heck, I just gonna learn.” To this day, her tasks are numerous and demand plenty of flexibility and compassion. But Mindy wouldn’t have it any other way: „The job is perfect. Even if I don't drive a fire truck anymore, but a desk!"
