The original BIRKENSTOCK footbed.
With the exception of the Heritage models, in which the footbed is a fixed component of the shoe, all BIRKENSTOCK shoe models have a removable footbed. It is constructed exactly the same way as the footbed in the classic sandal. There are just two differences: The last has been kept somewhat narrower, but without restricting the foot. And there is no footbed edge or toe grip, as these two elements are not necessary in a closed shoe.If you like feeling even cozier when temperatures tumble, you can swap the footbed for a BIRKENSTOCK lambskin footbed. If necessary, the footbed can be replaced with an individual orthopedic insert.
