WINTER BOOTS: STARTING THE NEW YEAR IN STYLE
Our guest author and style expert Dominik H. Müller took some time out of his busy schedule to show us some looks he styled for himself and his mom, at his parents’ home in Hesse, Germany.

I love relaxing and spending some quality time with my family and friends. I need R & R like this occasionally to get away from the hectic pace of life in Berlin. I’m especially delighted that my mom is able to be part of my winter styling guide.
Sheer Relaxation: Hitting the Great Outdoors
If you ask me, there’s no better way to mark the turn of the year than by going for a walk. Surrounded by nature, you can take a deep breath and clear your head, set your intentions for the coming year, and stir your creativity.
On this holiday visit home, we decided to go over to the Rhön Mountains, which border Hesse, as well as the other states of Bavaria, and Thuringia. I was delighted to find the mountains covered by a blanket of snow – my first of the year.
Winter Styling Tips
With our outfits featuring HANCOCK nubuck leather and GILFORD High natural leather/suede, we were more than ready for our mountain stroll. Both styles boast a rough and robust rubber sole that make a stylish way to stomp through light snow.
The HANCOCK leather boot brings the mountaineering look to the streets, especially when paired with some brown wool pants, as I did here. This goes great with a gray turtleneck sweater. This season, a down puffer jacket is a must, for warmth, and for on trend style, ideally in a striking color like red, blue, or yellow.
My mom is wearing the cozy lambskin GILFORD High with jeans – denim is a look-good-with-anything staple. The style is rounded off by a soft white wool sweater and a gray knee-length down coat.
